This week I have been, sorta, planning for my trip to Oregon with my fave Twinkle Twinkle Artist. We're on our way to Art and Soul! And because I'm off to Oregon, I get to have dinner with the most beautiful Grandmother in the land. My Grandma is so important to me. This rose is for her.
I went into to my fav tattoo artist for some touch ups, of old work, not his, and I just knew it was time for my rose to represent the most important woman in my life.
So for my lovely grandmother, and her 100's of rose bushes, I will wear her symbol on my body forever. I can see that she will not be around near as long as I wish, but she is with me each day. I could not possibly be the person I am without her.
And the face? That is my second toilet bowl lid, a commissioned piece, that left me this week. Yup, it's another toilet bowl!
And last week, I wrote a post about all the exciting new adventures of mine in art business. Although of course it's slow going, it's going! You can read all about the post HERE!!! I share some exciting news, and a few new pieces I made!
Happy week to you, and I'll be back after Art and Soul to share all about our fab trip, which I know it will be! Oh, did I mention Jesse Reno and Mindy Lacefield??? :D

ReplyDeleteYou and Kristin are going to have a blast!
ReplyDeleteYour new tattoo is beautiful! Even more so because it reminds you of someone who is so special to you....and that bit of yourself that is awesome because of her influence :)
Love the lid, too. It would be fun to see the house that lid fits into!
I really like your tattoo. Have fun visiting your Grandma and how lucky that you still have her. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tattoo and your girl is so cool! I love how you painted her eyes! You're so blessed to still have your grandmother. Have a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteHi Daniele! What a lovely tattoo, made all the more awesome because of who it represents! I was fortunate to be close to all of my grandparents (with the exception of one who passed before I was born), but was closest to my maternal grandpa, whom I called "Papa," who passed away 4 years ago. I miss him every single day, and still haven't been able to delete his number from the directory on my cell.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time at Art & Soul! Would love to attend this event myself someday!
Have a great time at Art and Soul. Love your art. :-)
ReplyDeleteI am more of a piercings girl, but I love and admire tattoos on others and loved watching all the tattoo shows and the stories and art behind each tattoo...so interesting and beautiful!! Yours has to be one of my favorites and such a wonderful way to celebrate your grandmother!! I also met a guy who had the most gorgeous blue roses that were amazing too!! Love your toilet seats...I have yet to do one!! Good job, have a nice trip!!

ReplyDeleteHi Daniele, your rose is simply gorgeous. And a face on the toilet, wow! I believe I have seen art in almost every place that it could be now. I do wish you a happy trip to Oregon and to the Art and Soul event. I here that's wonderful. Your visit to Grandma's will be very special for her. I speak as a grandma myself. Cherish the visit. Grandmas are extra special, even surpassing Mamas, in my opinion.
