Ok, before I go into explainations and the piece below, which is the outcome of last weeks emotional collaging week, I want to share, finally, my nearly finished third big board painting! I love these little scenes like a-crazy-lady, but they are time consuming! Whoa...seriously. I have decided on my title and how I am painting it on, and will be getting to this tomorrow! These happy colorful boards just make me giddy! (did you know I love that word? You may know this!)
Now... turning emotions...
into art.
It is hard to read the title. In dark gold stickles I wrote I Am Letting Go. I don't love this face at all, but I did feel the process was very good for me, and I do love this Instagram close up I took, sooo...I'll share. I am trying not to hide sharing work I am not super proud of. Part of the process, yes?
Last week a posted a work in progress, the layers beneath this piece. I had had a pretty tough mothering day, and inwardly I stayed up and collaged my feelings. Post here Collaging Emotions. So many wonderful people commented on my post. With this post I was merely trying to explain what I was going through while working on this piece. Thank you so much for all your support!
I began working on this piece with the color prompt for the third week of Summer of Color, hosted by super sweety Kristin. I like to call her Kristin Twinkle Twinkle! I didn't finish this in time to link up to her summer party, but complete it I did!
Here are the first three Summer of Color pieces together...
and of course I am just in time for Paint Party Friday! Woot Woot!
Loving all your pieces Daniele. Hope you are feeling a lot better now. Hugs Annette x
ReplyDeleteI agree with Netty! I love all of them together - and your last piece is just beautiful. I am so excite to see them all as a set and LOVE that you are putting your heart and art out there.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Twinkle Twinkle ;) xoxo
I love your colorful big board painting and ohhhh, that carved tree!! (Did I tell you I tried carving the cardboard?? Oh my gosh, I sucked!! Lol) Your SOC pieces look wonderful ... and bravo to you for putting your feelings & heart out there. Keep flying!!! ;)
ReplyDeletegreat pieces!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for sharing even the pieces you don't like! I love all the color on these--I've been doing things with neutrals all week and you're making me think about reds and pinks and oranges!
ReplyDeleteHope everything's going more smoothly this week--
Great pieces all! love your color choices and all the layers! Love the tree limbs very top of post, too!
ReplyDeletePooh I love the family on the cardboard. Reminds me of a project we had to do in elem school. It was done the same way,m we used tempura paint and cut the top parts away leaving the corrugated parts. I didn't " get it "back then. It looks like you are really working through things in your art. My art brings much healing to me too. I hope to one day live in a season of creativity. I'm not sure what would have to happen to create that
ReplyDeleteLove them all. Great work. The collaging emotions is a great way of looking at the pieces. Very nice. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why you don't like her, she is beautiful with her violet eyes, pink hair and pouty lips! Patsy from

Your pieces are all wonderful! Perhaps making your family was time consuming because most families are a bit time consuming. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the bright summery colors of the first two Summer Colors. Your girl in the third piece looks melancholy, which is how I would look if I was working on letting go. It's hard work! I quite like her.
Happy PPF!

ReplyDeleteI love the three pieces together for SOC. The big painting is amazing too. I love all the detail and layers that you include. Most important is that you are putting your stress and emotions into your work. I hope this is helping you to deal with life. I really see it all coming out in your art and making it have so much feeling and meaning.
ReplyDeleteHope you found some joy in creating these lovely pieces! I love the instagram photo, and the texture on the first one is amazing, the group of three are so colorful and pretty!! Feel better soon!!

The cardboard artwork of you and family is a terrific piece of art. I enjoy looking at it and imagining all you mentioned about you and family. The pink haired gal close up is brilliant. I enjoy your artwork tremendously. Blessings, Janet PPF
ReplyDeleteYour work is amazing! I understand where you are coming from about sharing the work you are not happy with but I think everything you posted here is wonderful. Seeing the close up of the lines and colors on the face is so illuminating for me as I am still struggling with finding my comfort zone with faces.
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful. Yes, the process is what counts and not every piece meets the standard we set for ourselves. Its a shame we all set the bar so high for ourselves. I think this is a beautiful piece that you have created. Happy PPF
ReplyDeleteOh SO gorgeous- I LOVE the way you used parts of the cardboard to tear out your texture for the trees- SUCH a neat idea! I would totally paint a canvas to complement it and attach it all together so you could hang it on a wall....beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF,
Stephanie
