So, If you're having fun with LifeBook, you may see I just made up my own assignment. I really wasn't into the lesson, and although I do want to learn from everyone and learn all styles to figure out my own, it just wasn't a priority right now. I had sketched this face a while back from Tam's faces, and I thought she was perfect to play in with the second lesson of the yin and yang of sorts. I started with a very clean sketch, and moved to painting my way, with mostly my fingers. Very loose. Very quick, and very messy. She does represent me in so many ways, and she represents many sides of myself.

ReplyDeleteI love it when I have just finished a painting....and there's paint all over my fingers....a warm sense of accomplishment in my veins and a satisfied smile on my lips :)
ReplyDeleteShe looks like all this and more to me....

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the messy, free style of the piece. It's something I am trying to achieve and really struggling with.

Nice to see your self portrait!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw her expression I wondered how much of you would be in her. Thanks for adding that note to the portrait, it adds a lot of meaning to it.
ReplyDeleteI love her layers of colour and I´m looking forward to seeing more of your work.
I like your face and all the wonderful color! Did you know Willem deKooning painted with his hands, very fast and loose too? I like your emerging style. Happy PPF! :-)

Speaking of great color! I can't believe that you did this with your fingers! Really wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYour girl's face is really really cool. Your use of color is amazing. I love how you added the shading but used totally non-traditional colors for it. It makes a really cool effect. I love what you are doing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors and textures.
ReplyDeleteI am stressing over the lifebook thing because although I like the lessons and seeing how it is all done, I just can't bring myself to make some of the pages... they feel a bit limited to me, so I am going to take a leaf out of your book and take the ideas and play in my own way... why did I not think of that!!! You are a genius...xx
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely GORGEOUS!!! Gorgeous color, freedom and energy! Really, really beautiful, xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteReally love it! Looks fantastic. I think doing things your own way is your style and shows the best of you. Sometimes I think I am working too hard to make things because I'm trying to please others, instead of just doing what I love and not thinking of it in terms of posting it for the world to see. Do you every feel that way?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, love this and I agree, it looks like you. I love the freeness of it. :)
Happy doodles to you!
Dear Daniele! How fun that we are meeting through PPF and then I find out you are also doing Life Book. I'm soooo behind on that, but I'll catch up! Right now, I just want to paint my girls my way. Your painting is gorgeous! I just love your style and colors... Hugs, Silke
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to learn from others, but then relaxing and doing it your own way...nothing beats that. That freedom really shows in this piece.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors and expression! She's a beauty!
ReplyDeleteWonderful art. Very colorful with depth.
