I really just made this video for fun, and to see how to do it. One of my besties wanted me to take a photo of the WHOLE process of making a girly painting, and I was like no freaking way! But, I can make a video! So I did, and I am very pleased. It is a bit over 6 minutes, hopefully not too long. To keep you entertained, I added fun captions, and the end a slide show of these photos here. It was great fun, and my 11 year old taught me everything! Kids these days!!!
(oh, funny quick tale. My mom got an ipod touch for Christmas. Teaching her how to use it and load music was the greatest laugh ever!!! She's old school!!!)
So here we go. First two, of four... and the video is of the first painting!
Can you guess the theme, or what I'll do with the last canvas?
and here is my very first video!!!

Oooh!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE everything about this! And your video! So incredible! So much fun and bright and happy! I love seeing all your supplies in the background and your captions are so fun that I felt like I was there. You are so free when you paint - I really admire that.
Here's to more, more, more . . .
BTW, I love your paintings! Your 2nd photograph is so beautiful and I love the glitter in her eyes (natch ;) xoxo
oh you are soooo sweet to me!!! :) I love the second photo as well!
Delete50 comments! That is so awesome - and they love it! YEAH . . . and it was really important for me to ask you if you ever make you own painted papers? I think I might do some today and was thinking that yours would be so cool (and they are so much fun to do). That was my big contribution for the day, ;) xoxo
DeleteThe response is blowing me away!!!
DeleteYes, I have in the past made lots of my own paper, but I do get lazy and just buy pretty paper too! Not often, but how can you resist???

ReplyDeleteI love your video. Your girls turn out so cute and amazing, it was nice to see you paint one. I love creating while my little on is asleep too. My four year old is always at my side though wanting to help and asking a ton of questions.
ReplyDeleteI am eager to see all four together. Have fun painting and creating this weekend.
Janelle, my kids are always all over me when I am working too. Even the 9 year old wants to be involved and talks the whole time. It is nice when the little one sleeps, but there is always another around! :P
DeleteTotally cute girls!
ReplyDeleteThey all look wonderful. :) I can't see the video, though.
ReplyDeleteOh how fun. Had a great time watching your Vimeo. Awesome job on your creating.
ReplyDeleteGreat painting ~ she is adorable! ~ Video was great! ~ Leave to the 'children' to know all the 'techie' stuff ~ are those regular crayons you using or water color ones? ~ namaste, carol (Share the Creative Journey)
ReplyDeleteHI Carol. They are watercolor crayons!!!
DeleteYour paintings are so fun and colorful I love seeing your process in the video. There are so many beautiful papers in your collage. I'm pretty new to collage and find that I have a hard time covering up the papers if I'm really attached to them. It's very helpful to see how other artists work. Very inspiring. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat eyes more beautiful! Saludos
ReplyDeleteWonderful post, painting and video!!! Happy PPF! :-)
ReplyDeleteVery cool, Daniele. I enjoyed your video (would have preferred Mozart for background music). Looks like a really fun technique.

This second one is gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi! I agree, I keep thinking about the whole essay on style too. It really affected me and I keep coming back to it. In some ways it marked the date that I decided to really embrace my own art and to stop comparing myself to others. It also helped me to define the type of artist that I want to me: a Leonardo DaVinci-type. Who dabbles in everything. I believe that a good artist's style will show up no matter what the medium. I may not master any one medium, but I will certainly be more interesting and avoid serious burnout by jumping from one material to another. From reading your blog and your comments on mine, I believe that we have a lot in common that way. We simply love to learn and experiment.
ReplyDeleteI love your video. I'm so glad that you posted it. It is always hard to post the first one, but once you do so, you feel so empowered. It is tough putting yourself "out there" and submitting yourself to public scrutiny, but I'm glad that you did. I think you have a lot to offer the art world.
xoxo

ReplyDeleteOhhhh I really really loved that video, it was so inspiring to watch you work! And nice to know I'm not the only one that squeezes my creative time in between looking after the children. I was feeling so frustrated this morning as it's summer holidays here and I spend a lot of time just looking at my art desk not being able to do anything. You have now inspired me to work on a canvas! :0) I love the texture in your paintings and those eyes are beautiful! Congratulations on your first video I thought it was BRILLIANT!!!! :0) oxoxo
